EVERY DAY, MUSIC CHANGES LIVES.
HELP KICK-START A MUSIC EDUCATION FOR YOUTHS.

SINGLED OUT – Extended Play at DEN

Singled Out – Extended Play is presented by WWW entertainment platform, ALTO; curating the best lifestyle and entertainment experiences. The art exhibition is conceptualised by creative agency fFurious and was developed in collaboration with events organisation art-management.com and Thunder Rock School.

For one-day only on 27 February 2015, Singled Out – Extended Play will present 16 vinyl artworks by local artists. Each artist was challenged to transform vinyl records or sleeves into unique pieces of art, based on a song which made a positive impact on the artist's life.

All proceeds from Singled Out – Extended Play will go towards Thunder Rock School to provide music outreach, education and mentorship to financially disadvantaged youths.

A specially-created Singled Out cocktail will be available during this special night, where all proceeds from the sale will go towards funding Singled Out.

With the aim to harness the power of music to impact the lives of underprivileged youths through the funding of their music education, the project has invited the artists to revisit their own personal soundtrack and to pick out a song that has made a positive impact in their lives. The selected song may range from a track that has inspired their personal or career triumphs, to a song that may have comforted them through tough times.

The artists were challenged to turn the vinyl records and sleeves into pieces of artwork. They were free to imagine the many possibilities, from painting the vinyls to creating a sculpture made entirely out of the records.

The project also serves to reunite the forgotten ties between music and design. The music of today tends to ignore the visual aesthetic, and through 'Singled Out' the designers and artists hope to promote the visual aspect of music, giving the vinyl record a new lease of life.
