This song is Kim Gordon's impossible kool,
sunglasses on her nose,
banging on her bass,
"Rock the beat just a little faster."
This was when I knew I wanted to make music. There are a few bands in your life that change you, Sonic Youth is one such band.
About The Artist
By day, Ginette Chittick is the Programme Leader of the Diploma in Fashion programme at Asia’s leading art college, LASALLE College of the Arts, shaping young minds who eagerly await their entrance into the fashion industry.
By night, she is a multi-tasker ninja, with her stubby little fingers in the music, fashion, art and design pies. She was a resident DJ at the now-closed legendary underground bar Home Club, playing indie, garage rock and other space oddities every Friday on a night called BEAT! The night had been running close to 8 years with a reputation for reckless, raucous fun. She is also one-third of cult fashion collective FruFru & Tigerlily, which has been experimenting with fashion with a derring-do that deserves some sort of somersault from happy cheerleaders. She also does electric bass and vocal duties for her shoegaze band Astreal. Since 1992, the noise merchants have released two albums and two EPs and played countless times in seminal gigs across South-east Asia.
